GLOUCESTER — Jean Elizabeth Neill, 83, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Sanders-Heron Cove Rehabilitation in Gloucester. She was born in Hot Springs to the late Eugene Adams and Lillian Pennell.
She was a mother, friend, caregiver, and later in life, she became a receptionist outside of the home. She enjoyed traveling, crabbing, fishing and just being on the water.
Jean was preceded in death by her husbands, Zane Massie and Edward Neill; brothers, Alvin Adams and Winkie Adams; and sister, Rita Hogge.
She is survived by her son, Charles Massie (Nancy) of Newport News; daughter, Theresa Owens (Alan) of Newport News; three granddaughters, Danielle Penrod (Jordan) and Brittany Brill (Rory), both of Gloucester, and Michelle Owens of Newport News; grandson, Tommy Massie (Christie) of Arizona; and five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
