NEWPORT NEWS — Hubert L. “Lee Lee” Norton, 59, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at home. He was born in Newport News, Virginia and was a lifelong Peninsula resident. He worked as a painter with Newport News Public Schools for over 38 years. He was a former instructor with Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
Mr. Norton was a very kind and giving man who never met a stranger. He loved and experienced so many things in life, including spending time at Yorktown Beach, music, singing, and dancing. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. But most of all, he loved his family, and especially enjoyed shopping for gifts for his siblings.
Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Leontina Norton; sister, Marjorie Marie Norton Fisher; and two brothers, Richard and Bobby Norton.
He is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Katherine, Walter, Beverly, William, Sheila, Marcia, Mary, and their families; and special friend, Steve Ingalls. The family would like to thank special niece and caregiver, Dorothy Reynolds, for all her love and care during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at Peninsula Memorial Park. Please enter by the Nettles Dr. gate.
Share online condolences with the family at Weymouth Funeral Home.
