Michael Anthony ‘Mike’ DeMarco, 41, cherished holidays spent with his large Italian family

TOANO — Michael Anthony “Mike” DeMarco, 41, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, after a courageous and stubborn battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and grew up and attended school in Cherry Hill, N.J.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Bray DeMarco; children, Olivia Ann and Rocco Dean DeMarco; parents, Michael D. and Maryann DeMarco; brothers, Anthony, Thomas and Christopher DeMarco; niece, Lilliana; nephew, Vito DeMarco; as well as uncles, aunts and cousins.

Mike was employed by Nicholson Sprinkler Corp. in Richmond.

Mike loved the beach, fast rollercoasters, reading, video games, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Mets, Lakers and Giants, while always dressed in appropriate team attire. He also considered himself a “hamburger connoisseur.” His favorite times were holidays spent with his large Italian family, and summer vacations at the beach in Nags Head. He considered his greatest accomplishments his two beautiful children.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 5, with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. at their home, 9201 Candle Light Court, Toano. Please dress casual, Mike wouldn’t have it any other way!
