
WILLIAMSBURG — Dolores Miller Nizinski, 91, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at home at Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg.
Dolores was born April 15, 1929, in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Martha Rae Miller.
She graduated with a B.S. Degree in Home Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1951. After graduation, she joined the faculty of Charleroi Junior High School in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, where she taught cooking. It was there she met her husband, William. They were married in June 1957.
Dolores was a loving, devoted wife and mother, and spent the next 15 years as a homemaker before rejoining the workforce as a food service professional at Washington Junior High School, Cumberland, Maryland. She later became the food service supervisor for Allegany County, Maryland, and worked at the board of education until her retirement in 1991.
She was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church for 53 years before transferring membership to Williamsburg United Methodist Church in 2013.
Dolores is survived by William, her husband of 63 years; son, David, and his wife, Anna; son, Eric and his wife, Lucy; daughter, Martha and her husband, Tom Munroe; granddaughters, Amy Nizinski Stevenson, Maya Nizinski and Nina Nizinski; and step-grandson, David Munroe, and his family.
A graveside service will be held at noon, Thursday, Feb. 4, at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, 80 Soles Lane, Dutton, officiated by David Martinez from Traditions Health.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave., Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814.
