VIRGINIA BEACH — Lina Victa Perez, 85, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020. She was born in Cavite, Philippines, to Casimiro and Pacita Victa. She was married to Pedro Perez for 30 years until his death in 1982.
She immigrated to the United States in 1984 and permanently settled in the Virginia Beach area. She was a diligent employee who held various positions in multiple fields. However, her love of cooking, the planning, preparation and sharing with family and friends, was her passion.
She was passionate about life, as evidenced by her strong will to live when she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment and battling cancer. She was an avid TFC fan and enjoyed listening to the songs of Josh Groban, Yani, Andrea Boccelli and other Filipino artists. Her flair of storytelling and recounting funny events always brought joy and laughter to those fortunate enough to be in her presence.
Lina is survived by her children, Bernardino Perez, and daughter-in-law, Jazell, Barbara Obligacion, and her husband, Danilo, and Ferdinand Perez, and daughter-in-law, Raquel; beloved niece, Lourdes Glenn; siblings, Candido Victa, and her three sisters, Severina Victa, Lourdes Victa and Elena Victa Ramos, and her husband, Roman; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and a large, loving and extended family across the United State, Canada and the Philippines.
A Mass and celebration of Lina’s life will be held in the future at the Church of the Ascension once social gatherings are mandated as safe and permissible for all.
