Juanita G. Mower, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, March 30, 2020, at her home in the presence of her family. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, in 1932 and raised in Niles, Michigan.

Juanita served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. She then returned to Buchanan, Michigan, to raise her family with her husband, Charles Mower, who passed away in 1993. After living most of her life in Buchanan, Michigan, she moved permanently to Yorktown in 2013 to be with her family.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Faith LaViolette-Katke, and her husband, William Katke, and their children, Melissa LaViolette and Alex Katke; and son, Warren Libby.

Juanita enjoyed the simple things in life, such as crocheting and watching old Western movies on television with her cup of coffee. She also loved sharing life stories and talking with her grandchildren.

There was a small family viewing, and her wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes spread to the four winds.

There are many things that she will be remembered for, how happy the little things made her, the laugh she had whenever a corny joke was made, the appreciation of the countless baby blankets she crocheted and gifted, and, most of all, the love that she had for her family. She was the one person who would always listen and never judge. Lastly, she loved you in countless ways, no matter the circumstances.

She will be forever loved and missed.
