Clayton “Katie” Ryder, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, after a short illness.
She is survived by her five children, Linda, Luther Jr., Elizabeth, Cheryl and Michael; 43 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther; daughter, Cathy; and great-grandson, Christopher.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Weymouth Funeral Home. The family requests that those attending the visitation or service please wear something purple. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, at Central Baptist Church, 2739 Hampton Highway, Yorktown. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
