
Penelope Doe “Penny” Belch Elias, 73, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.
Born in Baltimore, she worked for Southland Corporation as a 7-Eleven manager for several stores in Richmond. She moved to Hampton to be close to her sister in 2018.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and William Belch; daughter, Dolores Thorpe; and beloved dog, Simon.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Evans; sons, William Hurbert Freeman (Courtney) and Gilbert Wayne Page (Dianne); siblings, Stephen W. Belch (Claire) and Bette B. Shorter (Johnny); grandchildren, Crystal, Creston, Brandon, Jeffery, Mia and Emma; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Penny’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton.
The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
