On Sunday, May 26, 2019, our beloved Deloris C. Ransome, 68, went home to be with the Lord. She was born Feb. 19, 1951, and was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Lee Shierd (Poogie); father, Samuel Johnson; and grandson, Donald Henderson.
She leaves to cherish her blessed memories, two sons, John and Derek Wallace; four grandchildren, Marquita Stokes, Randy Palmer (Snoop), Susie Taswell and Ayanna Wallace; eight great-grandchildren; two aunts, Helen Tucker (William) and Cheryln White of Williamsburg; brothers, Benson Johnson, Miguel Johnson, Chris Johnson (Linda) and Harold Johnson, all of Toano, and Sylvester Johnson (Sandra) of Lampass, Texas; sisters, Sheila Coles (Elwood) of Williamsburg and Tammy Jackson (Johnathan) of Toano; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and caring friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, June 1, at Whiting’s Chapel. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends are to assemble by 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Ransome may be viewed beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of her service.
