Delois Lee Tabb, 70, affectionately known as “Donnie”, “Pearl,” lovingly called by her son, and “Aunt Don Don” was called home by the Master Wednesday, April 10, 2019. A lifelong resident of Charles City County, Virginia, she was born Oct. 19, 1948, to the late Grace and Alfred Tabb.
At an early age, she professed her faith in Christ and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was a lifelong member. She was educated in the Charles City County Public Schools. She drove the school bus for the county and was a truck driver for Henry Branscome Inc. for many years.
Delois was known for being a caring and devoted caregiver to many, whether she knew you or not. She would render a hand to anyone in need. She loved to fish, play cards and spend time with her family.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Boyd, Doretha Richard, Mary Tabb and Joyce Trower.
Her departure has left a vacancy in our hearts, but our faith abides in God whose will must be done. Wonderful memories will forever remain in the hearts of her devoted son, Cornelious Leon Tabb; devoted sister, Cheryl Green (Douglas); aunts, Hilda Richard and Delores Richard; nieces, Regina Teshara (Joseph), Frances Howell (Anthony), Rhonda Williams (Donald) Phylicia Green, and devoted niece, Charlette Richard; nephews, George Graham Jr.(Hilda), Stanley Richard, Karl Tabb, Deonte’ Green, Alfred Green and Deacon Derrick Richard Sr. (Amy); devoted great-niece, Charnte’ Richard; stepbrothers, Charles and Hilton Burrell; caring and loving cousins, Hancy Hatchett, Nathaniel Jackson and Albert Ghee; special friends, Vilma Crenshaw, Vickie Greene, Dwight and Brenda Adkins and Cynthia Ashby; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A service celebrating her life will be held at noon, Monday, April 15, at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Charles City. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the church by 11:30 a.m. Monday. Ms. Tabb may be viewed beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of her service.
