Barbara L. Parker, 65, was called to eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019. Her life’s journey began July 8, 1953, the daughter of Arthur Lightfoot and the late Florence Lightfoot.
She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and a member of the choir. She retired, after many years of service, as a home health care provider. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara leaves to cherish her blessed memories, her husband, James Parker; daughter, Katesha Jones (Del); son, Carlos Jones (Cherquita); sister, Sandra Holmes (Walter); brothers, Alton Lightfoot Sr. (Audrey) and David Lightfoot (Corlis); six grandchildren and great-granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Lightfoot and Theresa Lightfoot; and other loving relatives and caring friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Whiting’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Crowder officiating and Minister Omar Jones as eulogist. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Parker may be viewed beginning at 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
