At home while surrounded by her loving family, Charlotte S. “Sandy” Slater, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018.
She is survived by her husband, retired U.S. Marine Corps Major John P. “Pat” Slater; six children, Patrick (Patricia), Kathleen Easley (Kevin), Michael (Amy), Mary (Danielle Riley), David (Robin) and John (Amanda); and grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Madison Slater, Jack and Sean Easley, Nicolaus and Nolan Slater, Emily and Benjamin Slater, Elijah and Samuel Slater, and Natalie and Nathan Hardee; brothers, John, Charles and Philip Sledd; sisters, Janice Hoer, Mary Lynn Farney and Susan Mayberry; and many cherished friends.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at Saint Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, with a Mass of Resurrection at 2 p.m. followed by a reception. Burial will be held at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico.
