Thomas E. “Tommy” Coffield Jr., 65, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, in Virginia Beach. Born Feb. 12, 1953, in Norfolk, he was the son of Thomas Sr. and Gladys Coffield. He was a loving husband to his wife of 16 years, Janice Coffield. Tommy was a manager at Triple Decker Auto Parts, where he had worked since he was 16 years old.

Tommy loved NASCAR and his favorite driver was Mark Martin. When not watching racing, he could be found watching Rambo, the Rocky movies, or his favorite TV show, Shark Tank. Tommy was a “Jack of all trades” who could fix anything. If anyone called him needing his assistance, he wouldn’t hesitate to go and lend a hand. He loved to work with his hands from working on cars, to building houses. His greatest joys, however, were his family, and especially his niece, Jessica. Tommy’s greatest accomplishments in life were being a dedicated friend, a genuinely loving person, and the best son, brother and husband. He was a humble and kind man who loved everyone, and everyone loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Coffield Sr. and Gladys S. Coffield; and brother, Curtis E. Coffield.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice N. Coffield; brother, Donnie (Marilyn) Coffield; sister, Cynthia (Willie) Rowland; special niece, Jessica; nephew, Donnie; and a host of many other loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at Family Choice Burials & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach. A reception will follow the service at the Coffield residence located at 2608 Little John Road, Suffolk.
