Gregory Espiritu, 86, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018. He was born in the Philippines to the late Lucio and Maria Espiritu.
Gregory retired from the U.S. Navy with 21 years of honorable service. He then worked as a chef at several restaurants and hotels in the area.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Espiritu.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Larry Espiritu (Glenda ) of Gloucester and Eric Espiritu of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Rahn, April and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Travis, Abagail, Gabriel and Theresa; and siblings back in the Philippines.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
