Marvin Henry Jones, 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018.
Mr. Jones was born in Henderson, North Carolina, and resided most of his life in the Hampton Roads area. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a master chief petty officer after 31 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Edith R. Jones; son, Ron Rosson; two grandchildren, Janet Rosson and Christopher Rosson, and his wife, Lindsey; great-granddaughter, Payton Rosson; and sister, Margaret Coghill.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk.
