Henry George Linkus, 90, worked as a barber for 59 years

Henry George Linkus, 90, passed Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in East Vandergrift, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Dorothy Linkus and Constance Rich. Henry began barbering at 16, joined the U.S. Navy at 17, and was stationed at Camp Perry, serving as a Navy Seabee during World War II. He continued as a professional barber for 59 years in Tidewater. Henry was a kind, gentle and generous person who was dearly loved by his family and all those who knew him.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Elana Jackson and Justin and Jonathan Epstein; grandchildren, Elizabeth and James Jackson and Clara and Joey Mejstrik; and daughter, Dawn Obliskey.

A graveside service will be held at noon, Tuesday, July 17, at Rosewood Memorial Park.
