
Norma Delores Hunter, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, with her loving husband by her side. Born in Ware, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Adeline Daisy of North Brookfield, Mass.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Robert S. Hunter Sr.; and their four children, Robert Hunter Jr., Thomas Hunter, and his wife, Sandi, Cathy Dalton, and her husband, Marvin, and Carla Theisz, and her husband, Eddy; sister, Lorraine Sobaleski, and her husband, Joseph, of North Brookfield, Mass.; and nine grandchildren, Deni Smith, Kelly Hunter, Jodi Bell, Marvin Dalton Jr., Allison Dalton, Cori Hunter, Dani Hunter, Kodi Hunter and precious Kali. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Cristian, Nathan, Jacob, Piper, Kaylee, Connor and Bennett.
Norma retired from the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court in Virginia Beach and loved to travel, bake, was an avid reader and always enjoyed the ocean. She was a one of a kind, gracious and loving woman who will be missed by many friends and relatives across the country. Norma was a strong and determined individual who easily navigated 32 years as a Navy wife.
The family expresses their love and gratitude to the fine staff at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The love you have shown our mother and father during this difficult time, as well as every day they are in your care, will not be forgotten and is greatly appreciated.
The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home with burial following in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Family and friends are welcome to join the family after the burial service for a celebration of life at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4560 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach.
