Michel Zemil, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at a local hospital. He was a native of Washington, D.C., and a resident of Hampton Roads since 1976.
Mr. Zemil was the son of the late Abraham and Elizabeth Luftig Zemil and was preceded in death by his sister, Roni Packer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served during the Korean War. Mr. Zemil retired from Crawford House Furniture after 20 years employment. He was a member of Temple Israel and the Greenbrier Country Club. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Susan Bronstein Zemil of Virginia Beach; and children, Beth Paradis, and her husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach and Bret Zemil of Denver, Colo.; brother, Herb Zemil of Maryland; grandchildren, Mariah and Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi Michael Panitz officiating.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Temple Israel.
