Paris E. ‘Gene’ Devol Sr., 83, entered the kingdom of our Lord Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at his residence after suffering multiple health issues.
He was born Feb. 8, 1934, to Glenn Finch Devol and Willie Elizabeth Devol. He grew up and went to school on the Peninsula all his life. Gene served in the Navy, was a hard worker and retired from Hampton Crane and Rigging. He was a member of Iron Workers Union 79.
He is survived by his wife, Antonia ‘Toni’ Mabaet-Devol; sons, Gene Devol Jr. and Glenn Devol; stepchildren, Joan and Noel; and two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Devol, and other relatives who are waiting to greet him upon entering the gates of heaven.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. Family and friends will gather at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
