Dixie Lee Trial, 87, passed away while surrounded by her loved ones Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017.
Dixie was born in Indiana, and a resident of Newark, Ohio, before relocating to Yorktown, Va., in 2014. She retired as a school teacher from Lakewood High School in 1989 after 27 years of teaching.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret J. Shannon.
Dixie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Gregory Trial; daughter, Alyce G. Harmeson (Ken) of Yorktown; two sons, Alain F. Trial (Beverly) of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Derek L. Trial of Spokane, Wash.; brother, Jerry R. Crews (Norma), and a sister, Joan Bowman, both of New Albany, Ind.; and two granddaughters, Michelle Chrismon (Ben) and Meagan Harmeson (Taylor).
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Yorktown.
