Ellen F. Tolmich, 84, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away July 15, 2016.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Tolmich; daughter, Karen Ann Tolmich; and sisters, Margaret Bussmann and Rosemary Blount.
Ellen was a member and active volunteer at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and member of Sunshine Club. She retired from Virginia Beach Public Schools.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Debbie Maggard and Laurie Rogers; son, Michael Tolmich; two sons-in-law; grandchildren, Tara, David, Brett, Kyle, Amber, Michael and Thy; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, L.J., Jaden, Mason, Kacen, Caleb, Kierstin and Riley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, Va. A mass of Christian burial, led by the Rev. Fr. Merlito Abiog, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at a reception at Holy Spirit Catholic Church following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
