Joyce B. Bolling Gardner, 89, passed away on July 18, 2016.
Joyce retired from C&P Telephone Co., and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and The Red Hat Society.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Sarah “Maude” Bolling of Forest, Va.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, C. Ralph Gardner; her brother, Ersel L. Bolling of Bedford, Va.; and her sister, Kathleen B. West of Deltaville, Va. She was the widow of
Survivors include her sons, David M. Owens (Kristal), Leland E. Owens Jr. (Marie) and Richard B. Owens (Sandie); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephew, Ersel L. Bolling,Jr. (Charlene); and a stepson, Barry Gardner (Kathy).
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
