Born and raised in the Philippines, Maxima graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in education, specializing in physical education. She was an avid 100-meter swimmer and taught Philippine folk dances. In May 1970, Maxima and Ferdinand came to the United States to start their new life. Through the years, they worked hard and dedicated their life to their children.

Maxima enjoyed life! For 43 years, she was an active member of her church, Princess Anne Plaza United Methodist Church. She served with the United Methodist Women’s Group and the Social Action Committee as well as cleaning, decorating and cooking during church occasions. Most of all, singing God’s praises in the choir was her favorite activity in the church.

She passed down these values to her children and grandchildren, who will continue to carry them on for generations to come. These values were exemplified through her actions, words, stories and teachings.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. She shared a wonderful life with her soulmate and husband, the late Ferdinand Feria Angeles, who passed away in 2015.

Maxima is survived by her four children, Florence (Danny), Jonathan (Catherine), Ferdinand Jr. (Holley) and Cornelia; eight grandchildren, John Ryan, Jessica, Laura Ashley, Megan, Matthew, Gabrielle, Justin and Jeremy; and four great-grandchildren, Gage, Natalie, Taylor and Luke.
