
Joan Ann Johns Clark, 67, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016. She was born February 27, 1949, to the late Robert and Virginia Johns in Princess Anne County.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Mosely Jr.
Joan retired after 28 years with Dominion Virginia Power. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church until uniting with Faith Focus & Vision Ministries where she served as church mother. Joan was a part of the 1966 reunion group from Union Kempsville High School called the ‘Golden Girls.’ This group consisted of Betty Williams, Celestine Overton, Phyllis Vann, Daisy Spruill, Jane Clore and the late Bernadine Sanderlin.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Tiffany J. Little (Pastor James Jr); four siblings, Waunda Johns Little, Thomasine McGruder, Sharon Johns Jones (Quintin), Robert Johns and Misheal Johns; three grandchildren, Jamea Harrison, Kayla ‘Sweetie Pie’ Little and Joshua ‘Poppy’ Little; four nieces, Ariane, Jada, Sydneee and Amanda; three nephews, Cherrod, Tremaine and Marcus; a goddaughter, Robin W. Brown; special people to her heart, Ursula and Levi Cooper, Angie and her kidney donor, Nancy Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. A homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at New Jerusalem COGIC, 118 Bishop Thoroughgood Ave., Virginia Beach. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
