Carithia A. Winbush answered the Master’s call on Monday, February 8, 2016, in Colonial Manor.
She was born on December 13, 1915, the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Emmanuel Griffin. Mrs. Winbush was a faithful member of Saint John Baptist Church on Penniman Road. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Winbush; and just recently by her sister, Ruth Mae Jones. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her nieces and nephews, Norma E. Corbitt (Curtis) and Kyle Jones (Kathy); other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service, celebrating the life she lived, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016, in Saint John Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Hudson officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Winbush may be viewed only in the church beginning at 1 p.m., or immediately following the Sunday church service. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 2:30 p.m.
