Inez Nora Williams, 84, dedicated 25 years to W&M as an executive housekeeper

inez williamsInez Nora Williams, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2016, in the home of her loving daughter, in Williamsburg.

She was born on February 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Andrew Lee Coles and Susan Edna Coles, of Charles City, Virginia. Inez thoroughly enjoyed family activities, with her nine siblings, her four children and their families. Her Faith in God and Family were the heart of her life.

Inez was an active member of Parrish Hill Baptist Church, Charles City. She was employed by The College of William & Mary, as an Executive Housekeeper, for more than 25 years. She received annual awards in recognition of her dedication and outstanding service for the college community

She leaves to cherish her blessed memories her five siblings, Hannah Banks, Willie Coles, Fattah Muhammad, Caldonia Williams and Edna Brooks; her four children, Nancy Harris (Herbert), Charles City, VA, Brenda Williams (Bernard), Hopewell, VA, Jacqueline Cumber (Pernell) and Ervene “Eve” Thomas, both of Williamsburg, VA; her twelve grandchildren, Herbert Harris, Jr, Rachel Dabney, Crystal Harris, Taralina Linares, April Harris, LaToya Baker, Lance Williams, Carlos Cumber, Bianca Gresham, Pierre Thomas, Thomas “Brent” Thomas and LeRoy Thomas; her twenty-five great- grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. Three words to describe our beloved Mrs. Inez Williams would be faithful, loyal, and fervent.

A Homegoing service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, in Parrish Hill Baptist Church, 12401 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City, VA 23030.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Mrs. Williams may be viewed only in the church noon Saturday until the hour of her service.
