James P. Tolley, 50, city employee for 20 years, die-hard NASCAR and Redskins fan

James P. Tolley, 50, passed away on January 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Maryland, he was the son of the late Donald Tolley, Sr. and Celine Crowley Tolley. He was also preceded in death by his long-time partner, Christy Buck.

He was employed with the City of Virginia Beach for 20 years. He was a die-hard NASCAR and Redskins fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Donald Tolley, Jr. (Mary); sisters, Jean Grieve (Lee) and Terri Schanil (Steve); grandson, Mason Buck; and many extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society RFL, 99 Eglin Pkwy NE, Ste 37, FWB, Florida 32548. Designate “Team Paradise Norte” in the memo line of the check. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel.
