Robert H. ‘Bobby’ Bennett, 74, owned law practice for more than 30 years, gifted golfer and avid tennis player

Robert H. ‘Bobby’ Bennett, 74, died Wednesday, December 30th surrounded by family. He suffered from rapidly progressive Alzheimer’s. Bobby was a lifetime resident of Virginia Beach where he owned and operated his own law practice for over thirty years. He was a gifted golfer and avid tennis player. He is a graduate of Hampton-Sydney College and the University of Virginia Law School.

Survivors include his sister, Anne Bennett, brother, Jimmie Bennett, sister in-law, Lorraine Bennett, daughter, Jennifer Bennett, son-in-law Chris Quigley, and beloved grandson Fredric Quigley; and, daughter Katie Bennett and son Robert Bennett.

The family is eternally grateful for his long-time college and professional friends who stood by him during his illness.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 300 36th St. Virginia Beach, Monday, January 4th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Mission fund which provides education, food and relief globally at www.firstpresvb.org.
