William T. Congleton Sr., 93, retired Corps of Engineers real estate specialist and WWII veteran who taught Sunday school for adults for 40 years

William T. Congleton, Sr. 93, (Pa Bill), of the 2400 block of Peritan Rd., Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on December 24, 2015. He was born August 30, 1922, in Portsmouth, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Margret Congleton; his parents, Mildred and Charlie Congleton.

He graduated from Kempsville High School in 1940 and was an active member of Bayside Baptist Church where he was twice a Deacon and taught Sunday School for the adult class for 40 years. He also was member of Bayside Masonic Lodge and also a Shriner. He was a veteran who served in WWII in India.

He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as a Real Estate Specialist and was a devoted to his family. He will be missed!

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Bill Jr.; and his grandson, Tom, wife Amy; two great granddaughters, Bailey and Abby; and cousin, Sara Congleton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Bayside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
