Jean Franklin Fouratt, 88, 27-year St. Margaret Mary Catholic School teacher

Jean Franklin Fouratt died peacefully Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, in Virginia Beach, at the age of 88.

Jean was born May 26, 1927, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Churchill and Sara Franklin. She graduated from Douglas College and received her master’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania. She married Robert F. Fouratt in 1952. She lived in Little Silver, New Jersey, and Owensboro, Kentucky, before settling in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, in 1970.

Jean taught at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, for 27 years and was a member of St. Margaret Mary parish for 45 years.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Elizabeth Army, of Chesapeake, Robert Fouratt (Mary Eileen), of Shrewsbury, New Jersey and Joan Oates (Tom), of San Antonio. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Churchill Franklin, of Newark, Delaware, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania.
