Esther A. Piskorski, of Virginia Beach, died peacefully on Oct. 23, 2015, at the age of 86.
Born in Hanover Green, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John and Rose Tryba (Minkiewicz).
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Stanley Piskorski Jr., of Willow Springs, Illinois and his wife, Linda Impastato; daughter, Dorothy Piskorski; loving granddaughter, Elizabeth Esther Piskorski; sister, Dorothy Blasco and her husband, Gene; and many nieces, nephew and great-nieces and nephews.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, the love of her life, Stanley Piskorski; brother, John Tryba; and sister, Luise Raab.
She was secretary and newsletter editor for the Polish American Society of Tidewater and an amateur historian and genealogist. She was an advocate for the mentally handicapped and served as an adviser to the president’s council on mental retardation and was active in the National Association for Retarded Citizens.
Esther was an avid reader and writer who enjoyed facts. She was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity which touched so many people. Esther always had a smile and a kind word to all she came in contact with and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 1457 Independence Blvd. Burial will be held at Hanover Green Cemetery in Pennsylvania at a future date.
