Patricia Ann Hannum died peacefully on Oct. 18, 2015, at home in her condo at Burnt Bridge Run in Yorktown. She was 76.
Pat was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Waynesville, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Turner L. and N. Berdell Franklin.
Pat moved to Hampton at the age of 3. She graduated from Hampton High School and attended St. Leo University where she graduated with honors. Pat worked for York County in the Administration Department, serving as a secretary and office assistant for more than 20 years.
Pat thoroughly enjoyed domestic and international travel. She continued to travel, making frequent trips to Minnesota to spoil her four grandchildren and spending time with her extended family and friends. Pat was a member of Northside Christian Church and was an active volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hampton.
Pat is survived by her sisters, Katy E. Swayngim and Barbara F. King, of Hampton; son, Richard K. Copeland, of Victoria, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Stacey L. Copeland; grandchildren, Stone, Sydney, Shaye and Spence; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Amory Funeral Home Chapel, 410 Grafton Drive, Grafton. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at the funeral home.
