John “Jack” Francis Pritchard, of Yorktown, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at the age of 63.
John was a native of Newport News and lifelong Peninsula resident. He graduated from York High School and retired as a chief warrant officer four with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1994 after 20 years of faithful service to his country. After retiring he worked for the Amoco Oil Refinery in Yorktown for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and riding his Harley Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Evangeline “Jenny” Pritchard.
He is survived by his children, Jaclyn Walker and her husband Leonard, of Newport News and John T. Pritchard and his wife Terri, of Toano; grandchildren, Jalen and LaMya Walker; sisters, Tricia Hunter (Ronnie), of Poquoson, Cindy Mann (Ralph), of Yorktown and Donna Canada (Daryl), of Yorktown; and brothers, Tommy Pritchard (Brenda), of Saluda, Kenny Pritchard, of Seaford and Eddie Pritchard, of Newport News.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at Amory Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with interment to follow with military honors at Peninsula Memorial Park.
