William Edward Flagg Jr., of Virginia Beach, died Oct. 13, 2015, at the age of 84.
He was born in Westville, New Jersey, son of the late William and Carolyn Flagg. William proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 27 years as an air traffic controller and an assistant chief. He earned his pilot’s license after retirement and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening. William was a wonderful husband father and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 57 years, Charlotte Flagg; son, David Flagg; daughters, Amanda Flagg Ansell and husband David and Jeanne Flagg and spouse Leanne Eyler; grandchildren, Tyler, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Aaron and Nathan; great-grandchild, Nathan; sisters, Lois Young and Jeanne Bakely; along with extended family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Salem United Methodist Church.
