
Freddie “Fred” Lee Wyndham, of Yorktown, died Sept. 3, 2015, at the age of 71.
Fred was a native of Bonneau, South Carolina, a former resident of Gloucester and a Yorktown resident since 1989.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Fort Eustis in 1995 as a contract administrator after 30 years of service. He was a man of honesty and integrity and willing to help neighbors and friends anytime. He had a strong faith and was a deacon and member of Providence Baptist Church. He enjoyed making furniture and square dancing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Ann Wyndham; son, Ross B. Wyndham and his wife Janet, of Gloucester; and sister, Betty L. Patz, of Mesa, Arizona.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at Providence Baptist Church, Hayes. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following the burial a reception in Fred’s honor will be held at Union Baptist Church Social Hall, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes.
