Daniel J. Hanley, of Williamsburg, died Aug. 20, 2015, at the age of 70.
He was born Jan. 28, 1945m in New York, son of the late Daniel J. and Catherine C. Hanley (Quinn).
Daniel was a graduate of Brookline High School in Brookline, Massachusetts. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force following graduation. He then had a long career in management for municipal water supply. Previously a resident in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, Daniel moved to Williamsburg in 2007. He was a member of the St. Stephen Lutheran Church, where he married his wife on Jan. 28 of 2012.
Daniel is survived by his caring wife, Deloris Hanley; children with his first wife, Patricia: son, Ian G. Hanley and daughters, Ryan Hanley and Melissa Goss; brother, Gerald S. Hanley and his wife, Elizabeth; as well as many friends and family.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Daniel’s memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Williamsburg, P.O. Box 89, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
