Louis Parsons New Sr. died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at the age of 92.
Louis was born in Toano and was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula. He was employed with William and Mary for 14 years until his retirement in 1984.
Louis was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen New and his second wife, Eula Mae New.
He is survived by his sons, Louis New Jr., of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Kenneth New, of Quinton, William New, of Virginia Beach, Ricky New (Janice), of Newport News, Alvin New (Jewel), of Williamsburg and Richard New (Janet), of Yucca Valley, California; stepdaughter, Darlene Skaggs, of Yorktown; stepsons, James C. Moore (Anne), of Anaheim, California, Wayne Moore (Mary), of Riverside, California and Alton Moore, of Grafton; a sister, Ruth Wilcox, of Quinton; brother, Calvin New, of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
