Vicente Malaya, Jr., of Williamsburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at the age of 82.
He was a retired school administrator for USANT in the Philippines. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, the JCs and the Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula Malaya; his parents, Pilar Ortega and Vicente Malaya, Sr.; son-in-law, Salvador Belmonte; and brothers, Ramon Malaya, Eli Malaya and Jose Malaya.
Survivors include his son, Vicente Malaya III and wife, Amber; his daughters, Maria Belmonte, Gina Covey and husband, Darcy, Aileen Malaya and Rosario Alde and husband, Paul; his sister, Virginia Malaya; and seven grandchildren, Alyssa Maria Belmonte, Joshua Eric Belmonte, Vincent Joseph Malaya, Alliyah Malaya, Andrew Covey, Jacob Covey and Lilly Alde.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug.9, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Father Jong Bayta officiating, followed by burial at Peninsula Memorial Park.
