Jane Hoge Allen, of Yorktown, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Sentara Nursing Center. She was 92.
She was born to Robert Vance and Lucy Grayson Hoge Allen on Dec. 6, 1921, in Salem and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Allen and her sisters, Eleanor Morehead, Francis Owens and Peggy Tilson.
She is survived by her sons, Donald B. Allen, Jr. and his wife, Nancy Lawson Allen, of Hampton and David H. Allen and his wife, Stephanie Marks Allen, of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Donald B. Allen, III and his wife, Lolita, Jane Imperatore and her husband, Brant, Whitney O’Connor and her husband, Rob and Sam Hoge Allen; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Kaitlyn Allen, Amory, Mac and Nate Imperatore and Michael Allen; brother-in-law, George A. Allen, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her dedicated caregivers, Erika Tyson, Frances Duty, Bessie Barnes, Alice Belsches and Gwen Kelly.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Little Georgetown Cemetery in Plains at a later date.
