
Charles Larue Jones, of Williamsburg, died peacefully May 14, 2014. He was 65.
He served his country proudly for over 28 years in the U.S. Army. He also retired from the Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown as grounds maintenance supervisor and the West Point Paper Mill.
He was born n July 29, 1948, the eighth child of the late Rosa B. and Linwood C. Jones. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Wallace, Louise Berkely and Elizabeth Jones and brothers, Robert Jones, Rufus Jones and James Jones Sr.
He leaves to cherished his memories his son, Anthony D. Jones, of Waldorf, Md.; daughter, Dornay Y. Jones, of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Cierra N. Jones, Anthony D. Jones II, Krystal A. Jones, Christian D. Jones and Adrian D. Jones; great-grandson, Demontre A. Smith; sisters, Gloria Jones and Ann Warfield; brother, Joseph Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Jones may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 111 Red Dirt Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188, for a funeral service beginning at noon at St. John Baptist Church in Toano. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
