Margaret C. “Peggy” Hur, 91, loved the outdoors, volunteered at St. Bede and Tournament of Roses Parade

WBMargaretHurMargaret C. “Peggy” Hur, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully in the early hours of May 14, 2014. She was 91.

Mrs. Hur had a great enjoyment for the outdoors, and was an active golfer, as well as avid tennis player. She relished the time spent with her family and friends. She was a volunteer for the Sierra Madre Rose Float, for the annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA, and also was a volunteer at St. Bede Catholic Church food pantry, FISH.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. James Hur, and 3 children, James Scott Hur, Jamie Ann Loiacono, and Joanne Robin Roberts.

She is survived by her son, Jon Douglas Hur; sister, Grace Dorothy Miledo; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A viewing will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA, on Friday, May 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. and a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Avalon, 3204 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg VA or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
