Urselle Hundley Tignor, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, May 12, 2014. She was 91.
Mrs. Tignor was born October 19, 1922 in Danville, Virginia, to Paul and Lena Hundley. She lived most of her life in Williamsburg.
She was an energetic woman who loved her family, her Lord and life. She worked for the federal government at Langley Air Force Base as a payroll accounting supervisor, retiring in 1985 with 30 years of recognized excellence and leadership performance. She was an outstanding member of her community and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. She had a beautiful, harmonious voice and was selected to sing with the nationally recognized Sweet Adelines International. She was an active member of the Walnut Hills Baptist Church and sang in the choir.
Mrs. Tignor will be greatly missed and remembered by all the valued friends who showed support with their time, well wishes and prayers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 53 years, Warren; daughter, Deborah Tignor Brown and husband, Thomas of Davie, Florida; son, Gary Tignor of Gloucester; daughter-in-law, Deborah Chavez Wyatt, widow of her deceased son Danny; grandson, Jonathan Neil Brown and wife, Jana of Shreveport, Louisiana; granddaughters, Teresa Wyatt and Trista Wyatt, both of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren, Bella Bleu and Lucas Grei Brown, Paul Edward, Aaliyah Marciona and Roman Isaiah Wyatt. She is also survived by brothers, James Hundley and wife, Virginia of Richmond, Clay Hundley and wife, Sally of Richmond; sister, Marie Hundley Prillaman of Danville; and nine nieces and nephews and their families.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 16 at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Burial services will follow at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery, 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666.
