Kevin Lee Brandt, LTC, US Army (Ret.), of Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He was 63.
Mr. Brandt was a native of Whittier, California, and a President since 1996. He retired in 1996 from the US Army as a Lt. Col. with 23 years of service in Special Forces. He was currently employed with the MITRE Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Silveira Clinton of Williamsburg; his children, Laurie Marie Thomas of Savannah, Georgia, Nicole Elizabeth Brandt of Seward, Alaska, James Edward Austin Brandt and his wife Catrina Erin of Alexandria, Virginia and Michelle Victoria Brandt of Staunton, Virginia; his stepchildren, Robert William Clinton, Carolyn Louise Clinton, John Louis Clinton and Catherine Abigail Clinton, all of Williamsburg; his parents, Loren Austin and Myra May Brandt of San Diego, California; brothers, Terry Wayne Brandt of Phoenix, Arizona and George Walter McKown of Oregon; a sister, Shannon Ruth Rowson and her husband Stuart of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Imani, Eyana, Valyre and Morgan, all of Savannah, Georgia; and nephews, Travis McKown and Peter Rowson and father-in-law Jack H. Silveira of Los Gatos, California and close family friend Janice Zeman of Williamsburg. Kevin was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann Brandt.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Newport News, Virginia. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
