James Henry “Moe” Moore, Jr., died on his 64th birthday

WBJamesMoeMooreJames Henry Moore, Jr., “Moe”, as he was affectionately called by many, departed this life on Thursday, May 8, 2014, on the day of his 64th birthday. He was born in James City County to the late James and Mary Frazier Moore and lived in Toano.

Mr. Moore was employed by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for over 20 years. Due to an injury on the job, he retired on disability.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vera “Ooley Bug” Williams. His precious memories will be cherished by his sisters, Cynthia Jackson and his twin, Jean D. Melvin (Floyd); his brother, Randall “Jim” Frazier; his aunts, Lillian Frazier and Amanda Frazier; and his uncles, John Moore and Preston Frazier (Vivian).

Mr. Moore may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at 171 Clark Lane by 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in advance of the funeral service, which will be held at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 6373 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, with the Reverend Valerie Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
