Bert Edward McLaughlin, of New Kent, died peacefully Friday, April 4, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was 81.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Ralph.
He is survived by is beloved wife of 59 years, Elsie Sibley; brothers, Sherman (Marie) and Kent (Jo); sister-in-law, Juanita; sons, Steven and Mark; daughter, Theresa; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Providence United Methodist Church, 4001 New Kent Highway in Quinton, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Providence United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 118, Quinton, VA, 23141.
