Gladys Mitchell Wynn, 80, Williamsburg Lodge employee for 30 years

Gladys Mitchell Wynn, of Williamsburg, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.

She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and retired from the Williamsburg Lodge after 30 years of service. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She was born June 30, 1933, in Kennesaw, Ga. and was preceded in death by her parents, Etta Mae and Fred Mitchell, Sr.; husband, James A. Wynn; and sons, Thomas A. Harris and James P. Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Harris and Virginia Wesley; sister, Mary Marshall; brother, Fred Mitchell, Jr.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Leigh Mitchell; sister-in-law, Ethel L. Brown; brother-in-law, Arthur K. Wynn, Sr.; godson, Matthew Moore; and many other loving relatives and a host of caring friends.

Mrs. Wynn may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 529 Waller Mill Road. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 5821 Richmond Road for a funeral service beginning at noon at Whiting’s Chapel with the Rev. Steven L. Keller officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
