This Sat., Nov. 18, 2023, if you’ve ever wanted to step into a Hallmark holiday movie, there’s a good chance you’ll find that spirit at The Heritage Humane Society’s annual Holiday Bazaar teeming with festive flair, locally crafted gifts and lots of hometown warmth.
Merriment in the heart of downtown Williamsburg
Come out this Sat., Nov. 18th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to Bruton Parish Hall located at 331 W Duke of Gloucester St., Williamsburg, VA 23185 in the Merchant’s Square area. This picturesque location sets the holiday tone as you step into the Holiday Bazaar. To get a start on planning, this year’s Holiday Bazaar event guide is online and there will be printed copies at the event.
The annual Holiday Bazaar brims with gifting delights either donated or handcrafted by The Heritage Humane Society’s Auxiliary, other shelter volunteers, and generous community members. Colorful fabric creations, jewelry, holiday decorations, fun stocking stuffers for all ages, and home baked goodies abound. There is a pet boutique featuring a variety of goodies for your favorite furry (or not-so-furry) friend. A variety of themed gift baskets make it easy one-stop-shopping and one-stop-wrapping for loved ones and pets on holiday lists.
Once again, the Holiday Bazaar has two fun raffle opportunities, a raffle auction and a 50/50 raffle. The Holiday Bazaar raffle auction includes six themed bundles: Family Fun, The Ultimate Date Night, Flitter Day, Get Lit, Picture This, Life’s an Adventure and a seventh raffle item is a $500 VISA gift card. These raffle drawings will happen near the end of the event on Facebook Live. You can purchase your tickets at the event. You do not need to be present to win. The 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold at the event.
For those who purchased Gourmet Soup Sales online again this year, they can pick up their soup at the Holiday Bazaar. People are welcome to stop by the soup table to see if there are any extras available. Thanks to 22 local restaurants and talented chefs, a total of 255 quarts of soup were donated this year – the most ever. Each soup purchase includes a baguette from Panera Bread Williamsburg.
New for 2023, Kids’ Club, easy-to-gift cookie mixes and new mixes join Neuter Nuts
New for 2023, the Holiday Bazaar will feature the shelter’s new Animal Aces Kids’ Club who will have a table with jarred cookie mixes for sale. The festive, ready to make treats were put together by the junior volunteers on Nov. 11 and include chocolate chip, oatmeal chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and a special doggie cookie mix for your favorite pooch. A special thank you to Cookie Jar Sponsor Carrot Tree Kitchens. For a holiday idea, learn more about gifting a special child aged eight to twelve in your life with a membership to Animal Aces Kids’ Club. Humane Education and Activities Manager Kendell Thomas will be at the event to answer questions and introduce some young club members who will be volunteering.
Last year the shelter debuted its collaboration with Virginia Diner – Neuter Nuts. They sold out at the Holiday Bazaar, however, rest assured, they are back! Along with the cheeky-yet-advocating Neuter Nuts, and the colorful Foster Care Mix, the shelter is debuting Pretzel’s Snack Mix and Double-Dipped Neuter Nuts. Can’t decide? Opt for the Triple Tower Gift Set.
Noah’s Ark Veterinary Clinic is the Presenting Sponsor for the fourth year in a row. This community event is also made possible by 19 additional sponsors along with the generosity of the participating local restaurants and chefs for the Gourmet Soup Sale.
