WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary’s (W&M) Department of Music has scheduled four concerts for its 2022-2023 Ewell Concert Series at venues around the City of Williamsburg.
The following four concerts are scheduled for the annual series:
- Ardelia Trio:

The Ardelia Trio is a group made up of Janey Choi (Violinist), Clara Yang (Cellist), and Jihea Hong-Park (Pianist). The three musicians are also music educators that have performed in interactive concerts in New York, Central America, Japan Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, sponsored by the New York Philharmonic and grants from The Julliard School, the Piatigorsky Foundation, and the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation. According to the Ewell Concert event’s official web page, “the breadth of their repertoire ranges from the Baroque to commissioned works by today’s living composers. The trio aims to create a personal experience for each audience member, from the youngest listener to the most seasoned concertgoer.”- Date: Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.

- Fifty Shades of Red:

This performance features Grammy and NAMA-nominated performer Dawn Avery. Avery is a composer, cellist, vocalist, and music educator that dedicates her talent to Indigenous language and cultural preservation. Her music is rooted in her Native American heritage.- Date: Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.

- Ambrosia Quartet:

Simon Lapointe (Violinist), Mayu Cipriano (Violinist), Beverly Kane Baker (Violist), and Rebecca Gilmore (cellist) make up this quartet, all of whom are members of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The group has been featured by The Feldman Chamber Music Series, the Virginia Arts Festival, and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. According to the event’s official webpage, “in classical mythology, ‘ambrosia’ is the food of the gods: this quartet exists to share ambrosia with you.”- Date: Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.

- Maria Yefimova:

Slated for early December, this performance features internationally known-pianist Maria Yefomova. The pianist has performed in Italy, Spain, England, Slovakia, Croatia, Russia, and the United States. Yefomova has taught at the Manhattan School of Music and at W&M. She has been featured on various international broadcast networks including Bravo TV network, Tele Monte Orlando, ParadiseRadio, Slovak National Television, and WCVE Public Radio.- Date: Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.

Previous Ewell Concert Series events that took place in February and March featured artists like Greg Osby, and a piano duo Michelle Huang and Magdalena Adamek.
