POQUOSON — Saturday, May 1, kicked off America Goes to War; a free event that is held every year at the Poquoson Museum, 968 Poquoson Ave.

The event was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the event was held but in a socially-distanced manner. Taking note from 2021’s Military Through the Ages at Jamestown Settlement, encampments were spread further apart and guests were not encouraged to touch the items that the living historians had on display.

In addition to the living history encampments, automobile clubs had several antique cars on display and the York County/Poquoson Master Gardeners had plants for sale to help bring a pop of vegetative color to the season.
Guests were welcomed to tour the Poquoson Learning Garden as well as the main building for museum.
