BETHEL HOUSING — Authorities are shedding light on Monday’s stabbing incident that occurred in an off-base military housing community.

On Monday, April 26 at approximately 4:31 a.m., deputies with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO) responded to “a report of a stabbing” in the Landings at Langley, which is located in the Bethel Housing complex off of Big Bethel Road in York County.

“The incident occurred on Big Bethel Road somewhere between Raptor Boulevard and Hampton Highway,” said Capt. Jeff Kerr, YPSO spokesperson.

Kerr said that the victim was a male resident in the military housing complex and that he reported a “confrontation with a person unknown to him,” who stabbed him in the arm.

The victim received treatment at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Kerr declined to release the name of the victim, his current medical status, nor the hospital in which the victim received treatment.

Kerr noted that the victim described the suspect as a white male and added that YPSO would not release any more information about the incident because it could jeopardize the investigation.

“We don’t believe there is any immediate danger to the neighborhood,” Kerr said.

According to YPSO crime reports, the stabbing is listed as an “assault, aggravated domestic” incident at the “000 block” of Raptor Blvd., which is a major thoroughfare in the housing complex.
